Having been inundated with series of communication regarding the list of speculated ministerial portfolios that spread through social media over the weekend, the Presidency has been forced to comment.
According to the Presidential spokespersons, no list assigning portfolios to the already-screened ministers was released.
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina said if the list wasn’t officially signed by the presidential spokespersons, then Nigerians should ignore it.
“Any communication from the presidency must be officially singed. Was that list signed by me or Mr. Garba Shehu? Please, ignore it.”
Speaking in the same vein was his colleague, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari was yet to receive any official confirmation of the nominees from the Senate, hence, there can be no talk of portfolios just yet.
“As I am talking to you now, the President is yet to receive any message from the Senate that the ministerial nominees have been cleared. Maybe the Senate will do this when it resumes this week but it has not done so yet.”
“It is only when that is done that the President can go ahead to swear in the nominees to become members of the Federal Executive Council.”
