Get in here, Corps members!
Following the outrage the N4,000 payable by prospective corps members for printing of call-up letters online and other services sparked, the director of Press and Public Relations, National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, Mrs. Bose Aderibigbe, has assured that the fee shall be reduced soon.
She made the disclosure after a meeting held yesterday in Abuja between the director-general of the NYSC, Brig.- General Johnson Olawumi, and the special assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Youth Affairs, Mr. Jude Imagwe.
The spokesperson explained that though the reduction of the fee cannot be done immediately, the review of the whole service would be made by the management of the scheme and the collaborating firm, Messrs SIDMACH Technologies Nigeria Limited.
She said: “Imagwe came to find out what is going on about the outcry against the payment of N4,000 online registration fee by prospective corps members.
The DG told him that the N4,000 being paid is not for call-up letters but just for the operation and provision of infrastructure in all NYSC camps and its 37 secretariats.
