The Presidency has denied reports that President Muhammadu Buhari cancelled a planned medical visit to the UK.
On Wednesday online news medium Sahara Reporters had reported that Buhari had called off the visit after an advance team had already left for London. Quoting unnamed presidential sources, the outfit said the president’s doctors would travel instead to Nigeria to administer treatment there.
But speaking with the BBC, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said, “It is false news. We are not aware of the reported advance movements. The last time the president spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed.”
