Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed sent Nigerians on social media into a frenzy yesterday when he announced that President Muhammadu Buhari who had been noticeably off the grid for a while would now be working from home.
Rather than a burst of annoyance that one would have expected to follow this sort of news, Nigerians reacted with the most hilarious bants that just prove we’re frustrated and all done. Like nothing our government throws our way can hurt us anymore.
But we found someone who seems to be on the defensive and doesn’t quite get the joke in all of this. It’s the EFCC’s Twitter handle(r). We cannot deny that this handle has provided some of the best clapbacks in Twitter NG and has become a popular favorite in such short time but it looks like today, the handler is all here to fight for its oga at the top, President Buhari.
Just look at the response to the simple question “Are you working from home today?”. The handler had to subtly pass a message across to all of us who are still in doubt: The president is working and is competent too.
Well, looks like we got the message and we totally agree, until the President proves otherwise, which we believe will happen soon.
