The disagreement between the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, and the workers of the party, over the plans to reduce the staff strength, cut their salaries and allowances by 50 per cent, may have gotten worse on Tuesday, August 4.
Officers of the Nigeria Police blocked the gate of the National Secretariat of the party and prevented workers from accessing the building.
Vanguard reports that the police officers were following directives from the leadership of the party as a truck load of them blocked the staff of the party from entering the Wadata plaza building.
The policemen, who were stationed at different strategic points of the PDP secretariat were found at the secretariat as early as 7am, and failed to explain the rationale for their actions and whose orders they were following.
