President Mugabe’s wife asks him to name his successor

President Mugabe’s wife, Grace Mugabe has Thursday, urged her husband to name his successor in order to end the crisis rocking the future leadership of the ruling ZANU-PF party.

The President who is currently 93, has ruled Zimbabwe since 1980 but has insisted that his party, ZANU-PF will choose a preferred successor not him.

Grace, who is ZANU-PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs, in a meeting with the women’s wing in Harare, gave a contradictory opinion, challenging him to name his successor.

Mugabe himself, however, did not speak at the meeting.

The election is proposed to take place July 21, 2018, and, if Robert Mugabe, who is the Presidential candidate for the election wins, he will be 99 years if he completes the five-year term.
