[The Presidential Blog] President Buhari is finally meeting with Senate leaders

It’s been a rocky two weeks between the Presidency and the Senate – from the second rejection of Ibrahim Magu, to the Senate’s refusal to deal with the nomination of INEC RECs and worst of all the rumours flying around about the disintegration of the Buhari administration in the face of the said “face-off”.

It hasn’t helped either that the President’s aides have been hysterical about the situation. Even Professor Sagay of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption had his own mini face-off the Senate last week.

Meanwhile, the Senators maintain they have just been doing their job and anyone who thinks otherwise is the one who is trying to destroy Nigeria’s democracy.

Today, the President has met with Speaker of the House of Representatives and is currently meeting with Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

The President’s Personal Assistant, Bashir Ahmad tweeted this information a few minutes ago:

Details of what they discussed are however yet to be revealed.
