British-Nigerian actor John Boyega clinches yet another award

Star-Wars breakout star John Boyega has picked up another award in what is turning out to be a rewarding awards-season for the Hollywood starlet.

Boyega won the 2016 Jameson Empire Awards alongside his Star-Wars co-star Daisy Ridley at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday, March 20 in London, England.

The 24-year-old star claimed the Best Male Newcomer award while Ridley walked away with the Best Female Newcomer award.

Fans angry with Seyi Shay over comments on Tiwa Savage

Nigerian singer, Seyi Shay, says she doesn’t ‘really know’ fellow singer, Tiwa Savage.

Seyi was on Sunday, a guest on Rubbin’ Minds with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and she was asked about her relationship with the Mavin Records first lady, and she said “I don’t really know her”.

While stating that she had met Tiwa Savage before, she noted that she doesn’t know her in a personal capacity.

“I do not have many friends in the music industry (and) then my colleagues, we say hello, we say goodbye and then we invite each other to different things and functions happening,” she said.

This drew the ire of several fans on Twitter, some of whom felt it was an indirect swipe at Tiwa Savage.

But the artiste, in a bid to clarify her position, hopped on Twitter.
