Terrorism: Court clears Ali Ndume of charges

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday discharged former Senate Leader, Ali Ndume of terrorism charges.

Radio Nigeria reports that Justice Kolawole held that the prosecution failed on all fronts to link the defendant with the alleged crime of hoarding information on terrorism activities and sponsoring the Boko Haram sect.

Ndume was charged to court on May 30, 2011 on a four-count charge for allegedly sponsoring the Boko Haram sect, an offence the Federal Government said contravened Sections 3(b), 4(1) (a) and 7(1) (b) of the Terrorism Prevention Act 2011.
