Nigeria is patriarchy-central. On any given day, any random person will give you advice on how to talk to a man, because well, men are superior to women- even the Bible says it’s so. Single, successful career women are usually told not to buy a car of their own, houses, land, etc, because then men would be terrified to come closer. And the poor women will be unmarried all the days of their lives. In fact, intelligent ladies are usually told not to show they are intelligent, so they don’t risk puncturing the man’s ego.
@TheBlackHermit has a word for those who have taken this advice to heart: making yourself smaller for any man will not be enough; don’t do it.
