When @udala_ came forward on Twitter Nigeria with her rape story, Twitter Nigeria did not find it believable and so wasn’t exactly forgiving. @UnilagOlodo, the alleged rapist has protested his innocence, claiming that @udala_ falsely accused him of a crime he didn’t commit.

Elsie Godwin, blogger and Influencer rides on this ongoing saga to shed light on this other side of the coin: false rape accusations by women.

If you are of the opinion that we should not discuss false accusations and boundaries when outrightly fighting against rape, then don't talk to me.

A friend of mine had a girl crushing on him. She even sent a letter asking him to jettison all his other girls(guy was popular) my guy was not keen. One day girl came to my crib met the guy there. Things were getting hot n my gee asked me how many years soyinka was on exile (1)

I was like wtf! My folks are gonna kill me. She had told a dreaded tout she was dating that she was raped in my crib by my guy. So I visited her in her folks house. I asked her if she had come to my house after that day and she said no. That it was on that day. (3)

I was like why didn't you tell me? She said she was scared. That she had screamed and shouted but he overpowered her! And that he then threatened her. So she was pretending all the while I was there. I said ok. I was in a dilemma because you never can tell 100% (4)

As I was going home I was accosted by the thug bf with his hoods. The now accused me of setting his girl up to be raped. Imo see shaking as those boys no dey play. One of them broke a bottle to stab me but the bf said no that the gal said I was not aware. (5)

I made an immediate beeline for my guys house to confront him. I told him all that happened and he laughed at me! O boy! I wan fight am. He now explained. Issue was she came to his crib met him with another girl. She flew off the handle and he told her off. (6)

And to prove it he said I should hide in his brothers room. We got a tape recorder and he sent a little boy to call her. 5 mins later she was at his place. He then apologized to her for being with another girl. And casually started retelling how they had wonderful sex(7)

So the gist is now that some of them falsely accuse guys of rape to save themselves from shame. Sigh* Think of how you affect the life of the person you are about to accuse. Is it worth it? We still have to go back to discussing "OWNING YOUR SEXUALITY" pic.twitter.com/infXj92uVz
