Following the development, Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani in a post on his social media page said he laid down his belt to act as a mace. Huh? Belt as mace? Sigh!
The moment the mace was taken out of the Senate.
Here are ten questions Nigerians are asking over the mace invasion.
Who stole the mace?
How did they sneak into the chamber unnoticed?
Where was the clerk of the Senate when the thugs took the mace?
How did ten men overpower the entire security outfit of the Senate?
Is there a duplicate mace?
Why was the sitting not adjourned?
Why hasn’t Omo-Agege been arrested?
How did the getaway jeep leave the Senate premises?
Who were the officers manning the gate?
Who were the officers manning the entrance to the hallowed chamber?
Finally: Is everybody mad?
Update: The Nigeria Police has arrested Senator Ovie Omo Agege over the carting away of the mace at the Senate. He was picked up at the National Assembly by a combined team of police officers led by FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Abubakar Bello.
