Gianni Infantino– the new FIFA president will be visiting Nigeria soon, Goal reports.
According to the football website, the new development is as a result of the meeting between the NFF president- Amaju Pinnick and Infantino at the ongoing FIFA congress in Mexico on Friday where the latter revealed his intentions to visit the country soon to know how the world football governing body can be of help to the constant growth of the game in the country
Goal said the news of the meeting was made known to the public by the chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), Mallam Shehu Dikko during a television programme on Friday.
He was quoted as saying: “I want to let Nigerians know that the NFF President had a chat with Infantino during the current Fifa Congress in Mexico and he praised the development of football in Nigeria and also commended the federation for attracting the La Liga to partner with our league.
“He immediately told NFF boss that he would like to come to Nigeria so that he can also see areas in which he could be of assistance to Nigerian football. He said he would come very soon.”
