After being un-felt in his almost 6-years as vice president, Namadi Sambo may soon be handed a chance to create a bit of history for himself.
It is believed that President Goodluck Jonathan may possibly appoint Vice-President Namadi Sambo to head the transition committee he’ll set up to oversee a smooth handover of power to the President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
Based on that, an anonymous top government official told Punch Newspapers, that the identities of the people who make up the committee might be made public this week.
The government source is also reported to have said that no serving minister would be included in the list, as most of them are scheduled to appear before the committee.
“The President will constitute the committee this week. Vice-President Sambo may head the team since the Vice President-elect, Yemi Osinbajo, is said to be heading the incoming government’s team”.
