The Presidency has ordered the resumption of activities for the opening of the Nigerian Maritime University before the end of the year.

Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.

Akande said the directive was part of the Niger Delta New Vision of the Buhari-led administration.

He said the implementation of the directive would be coordinated by a five-man inter-agency committee headed by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

Other members of the committee, according to him, will come from: the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, National Universities Commission, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency and Office of the Deputy Governor of Delta State.
