The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has hit back at Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, over his recent comments that the defeat of outgoing Governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi at the governorship elections was a mystery.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state PDP spokesman, Kola Oluwawole, said that Soyinka’s utterances were “a product of stomach honorarium”.
He said that the Nobel laureate was transported for the inauguration of the new Government House in a chartered helicopter, which he alleged was paid from the state’s purse.
Oluwawole also wondered why Soyinka has become an image maker for a governor, whose performance was underwhelming in the gubernatorial election.
