Five days after #EndSARS blew up on Twitter, the campaign is still trending and garnering public support. Yesterday, Senator Isah Misau joined the campaign by raising a point of order on the floor of the Senate. This tweet below was all it took to unite Nigerians in their hatred against continuous abuse, oppression, intimidation, extortion and death by SARS, a unit of the Nigerian police.
A SARS officer just shot a boy in the Head right in front of me WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!! I'm so SHOOK!!!!!
— Charley (@yabakid) December 2, 2017
Since that time, the Nigerian Police has denied the stories, mocked Nigerians and concocted a half-hearted plan to #ReformSARS. They’ve also set their sights on the leader of the movement, accusing him of impure motives. In spite of all that, Nigerians still insist #EndSARS.
Perhaps you see no reason why SARS should be scrapped, these stories below ought to change your mind:
1 We will kill you and nothing will happen
In 2009, my mom's friend's son Biodun, who was a student of OAU was going to Ibadan from Ife on the 23rd of June and was Killed by SARS because they wanted to take him away and he resisted cos he didn't do anything. He was his mother's only Child. #EndSARS

2. Grim Reapers
This shattered my heart this morning. This is Abuja, just one teaching Hospital and an account of one Doctor, but wait until you hear many more across Nigeria. Do we fold our arms while they continue killing Nigerians wantonly for Money?! @EndSARS #SackIGPNOW #ReformPoliceNG ? pic.twitter.com/M3xxpNcxiy

3. By their looks, you shall arrest them
I remember being dragged out of a taxi and locked in a cell with @codebeast for over 12 hours because I “looked like a prostitute” and he looked like a “yahoo boy”. They threatened to shoot us countless times! We didn’t leave there until we paid 30,000 naira. #ENDSARS now!!!!
— Emem (@ObyEnjoyment) December 2, 2017
It was 40,000 actually. All of them are mad ?
— Christian Nwamba (@codebeast) December 2, 2017
I did actually and was given a lesson on how I was a disgrace to my parents

4. Laugh and die
People are not supposed to be afraid of the people that are supposed to be looking after us. A couple weeks ago, at almost midnight, my friends and I had a gun pointed at us for laughing. For laughing. #EndSARS #ActuallyTakeGunsAwayFromTriggerHappyPeopleWhoHideBehindTheUniform!
— Simi (@SympLySimi) December 3, 2017
Their boss had to talk him down! Pointing a gun at 3 ladies because of your insecurities is incredibly frightening! Policemen need to be mentally evaluated and checked before being handed guns. And they need to be accountable!! Otherwise, they can get away with anything. #EndSARS
— Simi (@SympLySimi) December 3, 2017
5. Tax collectors
I can't #fabricate this, neither am I a journalist, but since we are woke, investigation don start!
Seeing what these #police are doing, I had to record this.
Picking people and collecting money from those that can bail themselves on the spot. #EndSars pic.twitter.com/4odgTcHUee

That bus was full to the brim, unfortunately for them, the man on white was negotiating for his brother that was picked in front of their shop in Surulere.
He had to ride his bike chasing them until he caught up with them at agege motor road. He paid a sum of #3000. #EndSars
— Majeed Oluwadurotimi (@majeedcares) December 6, 2017
The brother of the innocent and helpless boy that was shoved into their bus.
This people had gun, black polo tops, no names, we need to be worried with these kind of illegal jobs. @PoliceNG @PoliceNG_PCRRU @YomiShogunle if I see them I recognize them. #EndSars pic.twitter.com/LDmRdc0lkI
— Majeed Oluwadurotimi (@majeedcares) December 6, 2017
Take a good look at this boy, does this one look harmful to anyone?
No time for sentiments, please something should just be done to curb this acts by the bad crops in the #NPF.
I don't know them from anywhere, was just at at the right place at the right time. #EndSars pic.twitter.com/aNpvQ2U8vO
— Majeed Oluwadurotimi (@majeedcares) December 6, 2017
The brother has a message for the president, vice president, IG and those whom it may concern.

What has been tough is convincing Moses Motoni’s aged mother that his son is not actually working for a criminal organization. It’s been so unfortunate.
— Oluseun Onigbinde (@seunonigbinde) December 5, 2017
Hello @PoliceNG_PCRRU @asorock @ProfOsinbajo Moses Motoni must NOT be reported dead. He is NOT an armed robber. He is being held and currently on his way to Abuja. #EndSARS
