A glance at Nigeria Twitter trends today shows Bobrisky occupying the top spot with over 14k hits, while Alder consulting takes the sixth spot. Why, you ask? We are happy to fill you in.
Yesterday, after Enough is Enough Nigeria(EIE) announced Bobrisky as one of its speakers at the New Media Conference, which is currently on-going as we write, Alder Consulting via an official press release today, pulled out one of their own -Subomi Plumptre.
And yes, before Subomi said goodbye, Bashir Ahmad already had.
Nigerian Twitter is at odds at the moment: some believe Alder Consulting was within its rights to withdraw from the event. Others think that by withdrawing, Alder Consulting publicly shamed Bobrisky.
See the interesting exchange below:

Every organisation have their values and ethics. You might not accept it but it is theirs. One man's meet is … https://t.co/3qtE4oyptK

Alder Consulting does serious stuff with govt agencies etc so "forgive them" for not wanting to water down their brand.

If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything. I can't fault Alder Consulting. Na by force? Bobrisky can as well speak alone

This Bobrisky thing is funny. If I was a media professional, I wouldn't sit on a panel with Kim Kardashian. Credit to them but not for me.

You lot talk absolute bollocks. Bobrisky is just a cross-dresser who went on SC talking about his sugar daddy& bleaching cream. What else?
— Gene Grey (@EuginhoCortez) October 26, 2016
Lol. They just want firms like Alder Consulting to give him legitimacy. They should put their own firms on the line https://t.co/rurhj1ONcO
— Gene Grey (@EuginhoCortez) October 26, 2016

Realy? You actually asked this question? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!
— Ikenna Nzimora (@ronaldnzimora) October 26, 2016
, LOOOOOL! I am laughing because of the "views per snap" angle. Brand building doesnt start and end with views per snap @gboukzi
— Ikenna Nzimora (@ronaldnzimora) October 26, 2016
Do u know anything about everything u have mentioned here? A layman doesn't. Can Bobrisky simplify it? Yes! https://t.co/hB9bONqDE7

Bobrisky creates an existential crisis for my brethren and sistren. A likeable personality with a disturbing reality. Oh what woe.
— Funmi Iyanda (@Funmilola) October 26, 2016
The problem of Alder Consulting is knowledge. When you THINK you know too much, there's every probability intellectual arrogance will set in
— Kìkìowó Iléowó (@IleowoKikiowo) October 26, 2016
Choice is fine. Choice combined with public shaming is absolutely wrong. Alder Consulting opted for publicly shaming Bobrisky. https://t.co/5NIUZpsOmI

Bobrisky is an important phenomenon. Textured, vulnerable, dancing on the edges of social permission. It's a thing of beauty to watch.
