The best of Nigerian society came out to watch what some are calling the theatre production of the year, ‘The Wives’. The command performance which held on Saturday, 11 October at the Agip Recital Hall of Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos wrapped up a 3-day festival of brilliant stagecraft.

Guests at the performance included Minister for Communication Technology Omobola Johnson, Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank Bola Adesola, Chief Executive of WIMBIMZ, Osayi Alile, Rita Dominic, Olu Jacobs, Patrick Doyle, Tunde Kelani, Aduke Gomez, Wana Udobang, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Noble Igwe, football legend Emmanuel Babayaro, Osas Ighodaro, Shade Ladipo, Subomi Plumptre, Mo Cheddah, amongst others.

The play, written by Professor Ahmed Yerima was brought to life by iconic actors including Joke Silva, Jide Kosoko, Iretiola Doyle, Kate Henshaw and Lala Akindoju, there were guest appearances by Toyin Oshinaike, and Media Entrepreneur, Adebola Williams who makes a return to the stage after 14 years.

“It literally takes the soul to pull of a stage play in this day and time,” said Lala Akindoju, producer of the play. “But those who are passionate about keeping the soul of the culture alive understand why it is important to anchor major productions like ‘The Wives’. The turnout – a full house everyday – makes it all totally worth it. I thank MTN and all other partners for, forgive the pun, making this happen.”

#RubbinMinds: A popular actress introduced me to drugs – Terry G reveals

by Isi Esene

The entertainment section of Nigeria’s most popular youth show, Rubbin’ Minds, had controversial musician, Terry G on the hot seat.

The show, hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu earlier had Tope Atiba and regular guest, Joachim MacEbong discussing the war on terror currently raging on the country’s North east.

In his usual off-the-cuff manner, Terry G replied Ebuka’s questions with honesty; opening up about controversies surrounding his music career, packaged water business, personal life, usage of marijuana and more.

The highlight of the show was his response to Ebuka on his alleged drug usage. The Akpako master did not mince words in admitting his use of hard drugs and how he got the habit.

I was introduced to drugs by a popular actress… I am clean now but I still do marijuana,” he said. The artiste, however, did not mention the actress’ name – too bad.

Popular actress? Well, your guess is as good as ours on who that might just be. Now let the speculations begin.

The last time Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru had the chance to grill Rubbin’ Minds host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was at the Ndani TV launch a three months ago at the WheatBaker Hotel, Ikoyi where she literally made OAP, Omalicha touch Ebuka’s behind and persuaded him to spill on his past relationships.

Well, she got another chance today as guest host of Rubbin’ Minds to mark Obi-Uchendu’s birthday coming up tomorrow.

Toolz posted the photo above before going on to literally grill the birthday boy. She shared the photo with the caption: Guest hosting #RubbinMinds today for Ebuka’s birthday special! Got to grill him small…hope we are still friends @okija ??
