Today, it’s a ‘cease-fire’ between PDP chieftain; Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and President Muhammadu Buhari, that has got people talking. after a newspaper advertorial showing a letter sent from the office of the Rivers Governor to Mr. President surfaced on social media.

Contained in the letter is Wike’s appreciation of the President for his decision to settle a debt owed Rivers State. The high praise detailed in the letter caught Nigerians by surprise, as some would never have imagined such kind words for Buhari, coming from Wike, the ‘opposition warlord.’

The Governor then goes on to show commitment towards building a smooth working relationship with the President, as he politely requested a visit from the President, stating that he wishes to show the President how far, he and the people of Rivers State have come. This right here is what has put Nigerians on Twitter in a state of disbelief.

In the opinion of many, this letter proves that money is the only source of division among the Nigerian political class. Political views and philosophies play no part in gearing the principles our politicians live by, as long as the money is distributed, everyone becomes friends.
